Braehead Clan are happy to announce that former Clan player, Bobby Chaumont, will once again be wearing the #21 purple Clan jersey with pride!
Chaumont played for the Clan in their inaugural season in 2010/2011. The #21, from Sudbury, Ontario spent last season with CHL side Fort Wayne Komets, who went on to win the Play Offs, with Chaumont scoring 2 goals in the final game of the series, to help his team win the CHL Presidents Cup.
Chaumont had a great season with the Komets, with at least a point a game, scoring 24 goals and 42 assist, for 66pts in 66 games. In his first season with the Clan he scored 22 goals and 31 assists for 53 pts in 54 games. Chaumont is consistent, and if he can average a point a game again this season, then both he and his team mates will be happy!
Clan Coach Jordan Krestanovich had the following to say on the signing news:
“I've been talking to him since I first took the job as Clan player/coach.”
“ He is a big strong power forward who skates very well. He not only won a championship last year with Fort Wayne Komets in the CHL, but he was also in the top ten in the league in scoring.”
“I’ve played on a line with Bobby so I know firsthand how dangerous he can be and I believe that his time with Fort Wayne last year has given him the experience he needs to progress as a player.”
“He pushed himself last season and he stepped up, and I think this will really help his game this season.”
“He was already a good asset to the Clan in season one, and with the experience he has gained last season, I think he will have a great year with us this season. “
“I am very excited to be returning to Glasgow and playing for the Clan.”
“The fans made my season there very memorable and I look forward to another great season.”
“ I think that Jordan (Krestanovich) is doing a fantastic job at recruiting guys and putting this team together and I am really looking forward to playing for him this season.”
“It will be great to catch up with some of my former team mates and to get to know the new guys. I am looking forward to coming back and getting the season under way.”
