Braehead Clan 6 Edinburgh Capitals 1

November 9, 2012

After four straight losses the Clan got back to winning ways against the Capitals as they came from a goal down to net six without reply to beat their Scottish rivals. They had new signing Davide Nicoletti in their line-up, although they were without Robert Farmer who was away on GB duty. The Capitals who themselves ended a four game losing streak last week, lacked the fire power to upstage the Clan with only getting 14 shots on the Clan goal throughout the game.

The visitors opened the scoring with their first powerplay of the game at 7.35 as Richard Hartmann was on hand to slot home. The hosts were back on level terms with a powerplay strike from Matt Haywood at 17.09.

The Clan got themselves in front with a strike from Matt Hanson at 27.19. They opened up a two goal lead as Ash Goldie was on hand to net their third goal at 36.35.

With just over ten minutes to play in the third period the Clan struck with three goals to out the game to bed as Jade Galbraith netted at 49.42 followed by a strike from Drew Miller at later 52.05 and just over a minute later Brock Mcpherson made it six at 53.46.
