Clan claim 5th place!
February 20, 2012
The Clan had possibly their biggest and most important games of the season so far this weekend as they took on Coventry Blaze in a double header weekend that saw both teams fighting for the fifth place in the League.
After a win on Saturday night at Braehead and then the same again on Sunday night in Coventry it was the Clan who reigned triumphant and took the four points from the games and boosted them into 5th place.
A huge well done to the team and a huge thank you to the fans for being behind us all the way so far. Saturday night’s crowd at Braehead was one of the best of the season and it was great to see and hear everyone getting behind the team. It was great to see so many fans make the road trip with us on Sunday night too, having support in the crowd really make the difference to us.
Team Coach/Player Drew Bannister couldn’t be happier with the results from the weekend;
“Myself and the guys had been working hard all week and at the weekend it just all came together for us. Coventry put up a great fight and made us work for our wins on both nights. IN both games we played and gave our all right up until that final buzzer because we knew how close it was. It’s great to have taken 5th place and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved but the battle doesn’t stop there. We still have a lot of important games left this season and now our focus will be on them.”
Next Clan home game is Friday 24th February vs. Sheffield Steelers. Face off is 7.30pm and tickets are available to buy now via Ticketmaster UK online, by calling the Box Office on 0844 499 1700 or from the Box Office at Braehead during opening hours or before the game.
