Clan Sign Scots Born Ryan Watt
Braehead Clan are happy to announce that Scots born Ryan Watt will be joining them for the 2012/2013 season. The 22 year old forward will be returning to Scotland this season, and is looking forward to playing in front of his home nation. Watt will move to the EIHL, having played in the EPL and EPIHL for teams such as Basingstoke Bison, Swindon Wildcats and Slough Jets. Ryan was also selected for GB U18 & U20. Watt joins the Clan from this year’s EPIHL Play-off Champions Slough Jets. With 50 points from 47 games and 166 PIMs, Watt will be a welcome addition to the Clan.
A Clan spokesperson said on the signing “We are really pleased to have signed Ryan for the 2012/2013 season. He is a gritty player, who is not afraid to get physical on the ice. He is a play maker and will work well in this team. We have no doubt that Ryan will really push himself both on and off the ice.”
Watt added “I’m excited about signing for Braehead and moving back to Scotland. I look forward to playing in front of the Clan fans and being a part of the organisation, and also challenging myself in the Elite League. I have heard a lot about the Clan fans and the organization, and I look forward to playing for the Clan.”
