Braehead Clan will go on the road for five weeks in positive mood after beating Nottingham Panthers in a 5-2 contest on Halloween.
The night could have been a horror show when Jeff Dimmen tucked the puck away with the opening goal not even a minute into the game.
Then David Clarke hit the post as the visitors went close, but Braehead didn’t panic and started to settle their way into the game.
The equaliser eventually came when Cody Carlsson’s shot from the blue line flew over Miika Wiikman’s shoulder and into the net.
Then Brad Moran’s error allowed Alex Leavitt picked up the loose puck and drilled a low one into the Panthers net to turn the game around.
Matt Keith added a third when he got a bounce in front of the crease to stick the black disc into Nottingham’s goal again before the end of the opening period.
Jay Rosehill and Panthers’ Brian McGrattan went toe to toe in a scrap during the second period that got the fans on their feet.
Then Corey Cowick added Clan’s fourth after being set up by Pitt as the home side opened up a three goal advantage.
Brad Moran pulled one back with a backhanded effort, but Matt Beca’s empty net finish ensured a horror night for the visitors in the end.
