Alex Leavitt’s two goals in the third period helped Braehead Clan to a 4-3 win at Dundee Stars and their first four-point weekend since the middle of October.
After Saturday’s narrow 3-2 win over Edinburgh Capitals, Clan were keen to take the points from Dundee for the second Sunday in a row and welcome Corey Cowick back in the team.
It took 15 minutes of the first period before Braehead took the lead when Scott Pitt set up Matt Beca to fire home the opening goal.
The visitors then added a second shortly after through Kyle Wharton as Clan ended the opening period two goals to the good.
Dundee hit back through Felix-Antoine Poulin as they looked to close the deficit then Mikael Lidhammar tied the game a couple of minutes after.
Stars took the lead as Lidhammar picked up his second of the game to lead 3-2 after 40 minutes of action.
Clan were back on level terms as Alex Leavitt scored with an unassisted powerplay goal before adding another a few minutes later, again with a powerplay as the visitors retook the lead.
Dundee were unable to find a way through as Braehead claimed the points to extend the unbeaten run to four games ahead of Wednesday’s Challenge Cup tie at Nottingham Panthers.
