Fife Flyers
1 - 4

Braehead Clan ended the weekend and headed into the Christmas schedule in the best possible way as they swept past Fife Flyers in a 4-1 victory in Kirkcaldy.

The Clan got the better start when they took opportunity of a breakaway with Corey Cowick setting up Mike Hammond, who opened the scoring.

They ended the period with the goal advantage and managed to keep Fife at bay in the opening 20 minutes, but it wasn’t to last.

Carlo Finucci levelled for the home side as he drifted into the Clan zone and fired low to beat Michal Zajkowski to tie things up in the second period.

David Turon hit the post as Todd Dutiaume’s side looked for the go-ahead marker, but tempers frayed when Kyle Wharton and Fife’s James Isaacs engaged in a scrap.

Eventually Braehead got themselves ahead through Jay Rosehill as he netted the second goal just before the second break.

Zach Sullivan added a third in the final period with only his second goal of the season as Braehead got the timely goal to open a significant gap.

Then Alex Leavitt added a fourth midway through the third as Fife’s hopes of taking something from the game seemed all but done, setting up a tasty reverse clash on Friday in Glasgow.
