2 - 3
Edinburgh Capitals

Glasgow’s Braehead Clan suffered a frustrating night at home as the Edinburgh Capitals took the points in a 3-2 win in the Gardiner Conference.

The Caps took the lead in the opening two minutes when a scramble in front of Michal Zajkowski’s crease broke for Mason Wilgosh, who swept in the opener.

Corey Cowick got the equaliser a couple of minutes later when he took advantage of Mike D’Orazio, nicking the puck from him to poke it low past Caps goalie Travis Fullerton.

But the visitors were ahead again on the powerplay when Michal Dobron smashed a shot from the blue line past Zajkowski to restore their lead.

However Braehead were back on level terms when Matt Beca fired in low from the inside left, squeezing his effort in.

Caps restored their lead again for a third time when Yevgeni Fyodorov fired a diagonal shot into the net.

Fullerton made a game winning save to deny Daniel Åhsberg in the dying minutes as Clan pushed for another equaliser, but it never came as Michal Dobron’s men took the points.
