Braehead Clan are delighted to confirm that Latvian forward Toms Hartmanis will return to the EIHL as a Clan player! The 6’0 180lbs 25 year old from Riga, Latvia previously played for the Newcastle Vipers in 2010/2011 and Fife Flyers in 2011/2012. Whilst with the Vipers, Hartmanis notched up 55 pts (21 & 34) in 54 games and played 42 games for the Flyers last season scoring 13 goals and 22 assist for 35 points.
Hartmanis is no stranger to the EIHL and has also played in the KHL, Kazakhstan, Belarus and his native Latvia.
Clan are looking forward to welcoming Toms to the club and he will wear the #16 jersey during his time with the Clan. Toms makes his debut for the Clan at their home game on Sat 12th Jan when they take on the Dundee Stars!
Toms had the following to say on the signing:
“It feels great to have signed with an organisation like Braehead. I have heard a lot of good things about the club, the city and the support and I am looking forward to pulling on a Clan shirt.”
“Obviously I have played against the Clan during my time in Newcastle and while with Fife, so I am excited to make Braehead Arena my new home rink”.
A club spokesperson added “Toms is a great skater, he is fast and quick in front of the net, he will work well on our team. He is a hard worker and will be a great asset to the Clan with his speed and skill in front of the net.”
